I've created a carefully curated group of beautiful books, perfect as gifts or maybe as a treat for yourself.
1: I love the timeless work of Berenice Abbott she was an amazing ahead-of-her-time photographer, remembered mostly for her street photography. This lovely collection of portraits shows she was also highly skilled at composed studio work.
2: Plant appeals to my botanical loving heart.
3: Peter Lindberg's newest proves fashion can portray women as strong and powerful. Which is why he has always been one of my favorite photographers.
4: Add to that a must for stylists, photographers and editors everywhere is this lush compilation of Grace Coddington's work for American Vogue.
Now for something really special and out of the box, I highly reccomend my friend Karen Kuehn's newly released Maverick Camera. Which is the perfect description for Karen, who also attended Art Center and has had an amazing career including a stint at SNL doing those memorable "bumpers" they show before and after every break. She also works for numerous magazines and agencies and always on her own terms. Even when it came to publishing this book, which she did through a Kickstarter campaign.
